Kubik Films was created by Jorge and Alberto Sánchez-Cabezudo and is part of Newen Studios Group. They are the creators behind the feature film ‘La noche de los girasoles’ (The Night of the Sunflowers) (2006) and TV series ‘Crematorio’ (Crematorium) (2011) for Canal+ Spain, directed by Jorge, co-produced by Alberto, with scriptwriting from both. Their first production (also written by both brothers) was ‘La Zona’ (2017) for Movistar+.

Kubik Films aims to tell stories that tell our stories; stories that tell us who we were, what we were like, and what happens to us. Their productions have an uncompromising commitment to quality writing and cinematographic execution. ‘Nos vemos en otra vida’ (See You in Another Life), a Disney+ collaboration, is their latest work.

Alberto Sánchez-Cabezudo

Alberto, an architecture graduate, began his career in the audiovisual industry as the artistic director of the Spanish feature film The Night of the Sunflowers (2006). He quickly transitioned to roles as a scriptwriter and producer. Alongside Jorge, he created and wrote the series ‘Crematorio’ for Canal+ in 2011, and co-produced it as well, leading to an Ondas award win that same year. He collaborated with Bambú Producciones on the series ‘Gran Hotel’, writing several scripts.

In 2016, he founded Kubik Films, acting as content producer together with Jorge. Alongside his brother, he was creator, scriptwriter and producer of the series ‘La Zona’, awarded the Feroz Award for Best Series of the Year in 2018. His latest work as a creator, scriptwriter and producer is the series ‘Nos vemos en otra vida’ (See You in Another Life) (2024), a Disney+ collaboration.

He is currently working with Kubik Films on several projects for different platforms.

Jorge Sánchez-Cabezudo

He made his debut in 2006 as director and scriptwriter of the feature film ‘La noche de los girasoles’ (The Night of the Sunflowers), for which he was nominated for Best Script and Best New Director at the Goya awards.  Between 2007 and 2015 he was a Bambú Producciones director on TV series including ‘Desaparecida’, ‘Velvet’, ‘Bajo Sospecha’ and ‘Gran Hotel’, also collaborating as a scriptwriter. He created and wrote ‘Crematorio’ together with his brother Alberto in 2011. He also directed the Mod Producciones series for Canal+, which received an Ondas award for Best Spanish Series.

He founded Kubik Films with Alberto in 2016. Their first production ‘La Zona’, for Movistar+, was created and written by the brothers and directed by Jorge, and received the Feroz award for Best Series of the Year in 2018. The series ‘Nos vemos en otra vida’ (See You in Another Life), produced by Kubik Films in collaboration with Disney+, is his latest work as creator, scriptwriter and director.
